 Since
opening our independent lab in June 2000, Wilmington Pathology
Associates has focused on women's health services. Our mission
is to provide the most advanced methods of cervical cancer
screening, including ThinPrep™
Pap tests and HPV testing, to the women of southeastern North
Carolina. Solstas Lab Partners Group shares our commitment to women's health delivering exceptional and cutting edge services. The latest techniques for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia
testing have been added to our test menu. In addition, Wilmington
Pathology Associates and Solstas Lab Partners are now able to provide Cystic Fibrosis
testing from the ThinPrep™
Pap Test vial without a patient having to submit an additional
specimen.
Wilmington Pathology Associates is fortunate to have the
expertise of board certified pathologists who have subspecialty
training in many different areas and board certification
in cytopathology. Our current staff includes a
former academician responsible for training many other pathologists.
Dr. Babatunde Olatidoye was an Assistant Professor at Duke
University and the University of Tennessee and is board certified in cytopathology.
Wilmington Pathology Associates', through its partnership with Solstas Lab Partners, offers comprehensive services
for women's health including:
- Cytology and Histology correlations
- Turn around time: 5 to 7 days for normal Paps, 1-2 days
for surgical specimens
- HPV typing. We are currently the only laboratory in southeastern
North Carolina that does HPV DNA typing onsite.
- Gonorrhea & Chlamydia testing from the ThinPrep™
vial
- Daily courier service for specimen pickup and delivery
of final reports
- Non-Gyn specimen processing and diagnosis (excluding
pulmonary specimens)
- High level of personal contact and service including:
1. Pathologist availability
2. Monthly statistics
3. Notification via fax/phone of all high grade Paps signed
out
4. Letters informing patients with a “normal”
Pap of their results
5. No additional charge for rush or stat Paps
6. No additional charge for Pap rescreens
7. Supplies needed for gynecological and non-gynecological
specimens are provided at no additional charge
