WILMINGTON PATHOLOGY ASSOCIATES, P.A. HISTOTECHNICIAN PASSES BOARD CERTIFICATION

Wilmington, North Carolina: July 27, 2004– Wilmington Pathology Associates is pleased to announce that Wendy McPherson Strickland has recently become a board certified histotechnician through the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Ms. Strickland earned an Associates degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and completed training from the school of histology at Harford College in Maryland. She joined Wilmington Pathology Associates in 2001 and has worked in a clinical lab setting for 21 years. Histologic technicians prepare slides of sections of body tissue for microscopic examination by pathologists. The process of preparing tissue specimens includes tissue fixation, dehydration, sectioning, mounting and special staining. Ms. Strickland, a Wilmington native, is a member of the National Society for Histotechnology.
