Dr. Steinkraus earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology from the
University of New Hampshire. He obtained his Bachelor of Science
degree in Biochemistry from Upsala College in East Orange,
New Jersey. He completed his fellowship in Clinical Microbiology
and Laboratory Medicine at the University of North Carolina Hospitals and School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Dr. Steinkraus and his wife Karen have three children, Brigit,
Eric and Amy.
